O'BON

O'BON specialises in innovative, unique and fun stationery and they strive to incorporate three fundamental elements into every one of their products: quality, responsibility and affordability.

O'BON's premier product is their recycled pencil which is made by rolling a used sheet of newspaper around a stick of graphite. The result is less deforestation and a longer lasting pencil of superior quality. The newspaper acts to insulate the graphite so that even when dropped, the lead does not break as easily as it does in normal pencils. (I haven't had a lead break yet and my pencils have been dropped and thrown countless times by the earth toddler and myself).

As well as being the better choice economically and environmentally, O'BON's pencils come in a range of designs to ensure you are the coolest kid (or adult) on the block.

Also in their range are notebooks made from Bagasse, or sugarcane pulp. Sugarcane is a fast growing plant which needs little water and does not take much of a toll on the earth and soil as it grows. O'BON create their notebooks by using the fiber that is left over when the sugarcane plant is drained of it's juice; requiring little energy and no chlorine or other toxic chemicals to do so.

Adding to their eco-credentials, O'BON only use non-toxic, water-based glues and paints in their products, meaning they are safe for people during use, as well as the planet after being disposed of.
